Thinly sliced sweet potatoes fried until crisp are a bright and fun take on potato chips. A bit sweet, and very orange, their flavor is perfected with just a sprinkle of Sugar or salt – or chili powder for those who like things spicy.

Camote-que Recipe
As a variation to the traditional Filipino snack or ?merienda? or ?kakanin? called ?banana que? (referred to as ?sundot saging? in the Province of Batangas, Philippines and other nearby Provinces), ?kamote que? (can this be called ?sundot kamote??) was conceived. It is basically a snack or dessert dish made from slices or as recently being prepared, large sticks, of sweet potato deep fried in oil with sugar until pieces are coated with caramelized sugar.
Fresh Lumpia Recipe
Filipinos refer to vegetable lumpia as “fresh” to distinguish it from “fried” lumpia. They both contain sauteed vegetables with a little pork and/or shrimp. In this version of fried lumpia–a vegetable combination I learned from an aunt–small cubes of sweet potatoes are added to create a variety of texture. In making lumpia, store-bought wrappers are convenient. But, there is nothing like home-made egg wrappers. I used to make them with my lumpiang ubod.
